The British Library holds a few letters and book contracts between Taylor and the publishers Richard Bentley as part of the Bentley Papers There are also several letters from Taylor to Sir Alfred H. Layard and Henry Reeve.

The National Library holds over 130 letters from Philip Meadows Taylor to the publishers Blackwood & Son dating from 1839 to 1876. Most are concerned with the publications of Tara (1863) and Ralph Darnell (1865). There are also several letters from Meadows Taylor’s daughter, Alice M. Taylor, dating from 1876 to 1899. Most of these concern the publication of Meadows Taylor’s autobiography.
